Trip Plan:
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi
- Morning: Pick up your client from their hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
- Route: Drive southwest via Masaka and Mbarara, making a scenic stop at the Equator for photos and refreshments.
- Lunch: Enjoy a Local meal.
- Afternoon: Continue the journey to Bwindi, arriving in the late afternoon.
- Evening: Check-in at a pre-booked lodge near the park.
- Overnight: Stay at a lodge / Hotel.
- Early Morning: After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
- Trekking: Embark on the gorilla trek, which can last from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorilla family's location.
- Encounter: Spend up to one hour observing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
- Return: Trek back to the starting point.
- Optional Activity: In the afternoon, consider a Batwa community visit to learn about the indigenous people's culture.
- Evening: Relax and enjoy dinner at the lodge.
- Overnight: Stay at the same lodge.
- Morning: After breakfast, check out from the lodge.
- Return Journey: Drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop en route.
- Evening: Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe by late afternoon or early evening.
